A message from Alex:

Hi there and thanks for checking out my website! I am an 18 year old British / Aussie actor, singer, film maker, composer and designer (anything creative really) and have been working semi-professionally as an actor /singer for the last 8 years or so. I have been fortunate enough to be involved in some pretty amazing productions including playing 'Michael Banks' in the Sydney season of 'Mary Poppins' at the Capitol Theatre, 'Under Milk Wood' with the Sydney Theatre Company, 'Cat on a Hot Tin Roof' with the Belvoir Street Theatre Company, 'Intersection' with ATYP, 3 seasons with Opera Australia and 3 seasons of pantomime at the King Street Theatre, Newtown, along with a number of film and television appearances. I am also a classically trained baritone singer (AMusA Dist.) and give regular vocal recitals around Sydney where I am currently based, although I am hoping to work overseas in the future. Hope you enjoy my website!

7th May - Cantorion Singing Competition

Extremely honoured to be named overall winner of the Cantorion Singing Competition today, also winning lessons with Dr. Rowena Cowley and Bradley Gilchrist, plus a studio recording session with Van Leucia! Congrats to all the other competitors (especially the St. Andrews crew!) and thanks to Ben Oxley for organising everything.

2nd April - It's a wrap!

It's all over and Dorothy has finally made it back to Kansas for the last time with the final performance of St. Andrews Cathedral School's production of 'The Wizard of Oz' at NIDA Parade Theatres. I have absolutely loved playing the Scarecrow - the perfect role for me I reckon - and am so grateful to the school for giving me this amazing opportunity to return to musical theatre, 5 years after my run as Michael Banks in 'Mary Poppins'. Thanks to all the amazing staff who made the show possible and to all my fellow cast mates - we had way too much fun!!!

Now on to new projects as I begin rehearsals for the school production of 'Fawlty Towers' (in which I will be playing Basil himself!), opening towards the end of next term.

We're off to see the Wizard...

Only 4 weeks until St. Andrews Cathedral School's fabulous musical 'The Wizard of Oz' arrives at NIDA Parade Theatre, where I will be playing the scarecrow in what promises to be an amazing show! Tickets are on sale now (see sidebar for dates and links) so don't miss out and I look forward to seeing you in the merry old Land of Oz very soon, where I will hopefully (finally) be getting a new brain....better late than never lol!

Final performance of "Intersection"

It's a wrap guys - 'Intersection' at ATYP (the Australian Theatre for Young People) has come to an end! It's been the most amazing 6 weeks of rehearsals and shows and an honour to work with so many talented actors and writers. All the best for the future guys!

11th Feb 2017 - Great Reviews

So chuffed with all the wonderful and thoughtful reviews for 'Intersection' at ATYP. It's been tough working in 40+C heat the last few days (and trying to keep up with schoolwork etc) but I have loved every minute! Only 1 week to go - must close 18th Feb! #ATYP_INTERSECTION
